Château Langoa Barton 1977 St-Julien 3eme-Cru

Located within the appellation of Saint-Julian, Château Langoa Barton is a 3rd Growth (3eme Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc.

Classic Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend; Matured for approximately 20 months; 50% new French Oak barrels.

Château Langoa-Barton was the first of two Bordeaux wine estates bought by Hugh Barton in the 1820s, the other being Leoville-Barton, a 2nd Classified Growth estate. Out of all the 1855 Classified Growths, it is one of the few Chateaux that is still in the hands of the same family that was the owner at the time of the classification, currently managed by Lilian Barton Satrorius.

Brunello di Montalcino is one of the great under-appreciated wines of Italy.  100% Sangiovese which undergoes an extended period of pre-fermentation maceration to extract maximum colour, flavour and tannins which affords the wine its ability to mature for long periods.  Brunello di Montalcino must be aged in oak - commonly Slavonian oak - for a minimum of 2 years, though traditionally winemakers would age their Brunellos in oak for at least 3 years prior to release

Sweet Chenin Blanc from the distinct Loire Valley appellation of Bonnezeaux; Matured for 15 months in oak.

Produced in much the same process as Sauternes, the grapes are affected by botrytis cinerea (aka \"Noble Rot\") which inflicts dehydration and thus a concentration of the sugary pulp which is then pressed and fermented.

Our monthly auctions end from 7:00 PM (UK local time) on the closing date. If a bid is placed after 7:00 PM on any lot, the entire auction will be extended by an additional two minutes. 

The auction will end once all bidding has ceased for two minutes. Based on previous auction activity, the auction will continue for several hours and is most likely to finish between 9pm - 11pm (UK local time).
