Rhône

The Rhône wine region has a long and varied history, with its viticultural practices dating back to ancient times. Influences from Greek settlers and later the Romans helped establish the early cultivation of vineyards along the Rhône River. The Southern Rhône is known for its blended wines, often centreed around Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre, with notable appellations including Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Gigondas, and Vacqueyras; estates such as Château de Beaucastel and Domaine du Pegau have played key roles in shaping its reputation.
