Château Cantenac Brown is a 3rd Growth (3ème Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Médoc, located in the appellation of Margaux.
The vineyards are planted to 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc - proportions to which the wine can be expected to follow with slight vintage variation. Cabernet Franc is not often included in new vintages.
Château Cantenac Brown is situated in the Margaux appellation of the Médoc region in Bordeaux, France. The estate, with its Tudor-style château, was founded by a Scottish wine merchant in 1806 and covers 89 hectares (220 acres) of vineyards, a wooded park and grazing sheep.
