Aloxe-Corton

Aloxe-Corton is a distinguished wine-producing village located in the northern part of the Côte de Beaune in Burgundy, France, renowned for its production of both red and white wines under the Aloxe-Corton AOC. The village is most famous for being the gateway to the Corton hill, home to the only Grand Cru red wines in the Côte de Beaune—Corton—and the esteemed Corton-Charlemagne for whites. The red wines, made primarily from Pinot Noir, are known for their power, firm structure, and earthy, spicy character, while the rare whites, made from Chardonnay, display richness, minerality, and aging potential. Aloxe-Corton’s terroir is marked by a mix of limestone and marl soils with excellent sun exposure on the slopes of the hill, contributing to the depth and longevity of the wines. With its prestigious Grand Cru vineyards and a tradition of winemaking excellence, Aloxe-Corton holds a special place in Burgundy’s viticultural landscape.
