The Hermitage AOC or Ermitage is a small but world-renowned appellation located in the Northern Rhône, responsible for some of France's most prestigious red wines made from Syrah. Though typically made with 100% Syrah, regulations allow the addition of up to 15% of the white grapes Marsanne and Roussanne to be included. White wine is also produced in Hermitage in smaller quantities.
