Lacoste-Borie is the second wine of the Fifth Growth Pauillac estate, Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste. It is crafted from a Cabernet Sauvignon–dominant blend, complemented by Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
Like many historic Bordeaux estates, the château has undergone several name changes over the centuries, previously known as Grand-Puy Saint-Guirons, Saint-Guirons-Lacoste, and later Grand-Puy-Lacoste.
