From the Saint-Julien appellation, Château Saint-Pierre, is a 4th Growth (4ème Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Médoc.
The vineyard of Château Saint-Pierre is planed to 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc - a ratio in which the wine roughly follows with slight vintage variation: matured for 14-16 months in 50% new casks.
Château Saint-Pierre is a wine estate in the Saint-Julien appellation in Bordeaux's northern Médoc wine region.
The estate is named after Baron de Saint-Pierre, who owned the château in the late 18th Century and built the reputation that would earn it the status of a classed growth.
