Brunello di Montalcino must be made from 100% Sangiovese which undergoes an extended period of pre-fermentation maceration to extract maximum colour, flavour and tannins which affords the wine its ability to mature for long periods. Brunello di Montalcino must be aged in oak - commonly Slavonian oak - for a minimum of 2 years.
Gaja is an Italian wine producer from the Piemonte region in the district of Langhe. The Gaja winery was founded in 1859 by Giovanni Gaja, whose family arrived from Spain during the 17th century. It is famous for producing premium Barbaresco and Barolo wines.
