Biondi-Santi is one of the world's greatest wine estates with a long and fascinating history. It produces three wines: Rosso di Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino, and Brunello di Montalcino Riserva, made from the oldest vines on the Il Greppo estate, and only in exceptional years.
Brunello di Montalcino wine must be made from 100% Sangiovese which is aged in oak - commonly Slavonian oak - for a minimum of 2 years.
Biondi‑Santi Tenuta Greppo is a historic estate in Montalcino, Tuscany, rooted in the 19th century and credited with creating Brunello in 1865. It specialises in pure Sangiovese Grosso (BBS11), producing long‑aged Brunello and Riserva that exemplify traditional, terroir‑driven winemaking.
Sangiovese is a red grape variety native to Italy and is the most widely-planted in the country. The grape is key to a number of blends but is particularly known for those made in Tuscany.
Italy is a wine-making powerhouse, renowned for its diverse range of wines and regions including Tuscany, Piedmont, and Veneto.
