Amarone della Valpolicella is one of Italy's most iconic wines. As with all Valpolicellas, the wine is a blend of the Corvina, Corvinone, Molinara and Rondinella grape varieties.
Amarone is produced through a process of partially rack-drying grapes - to increase concentration of both natural grape flavours and sugars - for approximately 4 months before winemaking begins. The result is a wine of atypical power, concentration and alcohol content with an ability to benefit from long periods of maturation.
This wine is from the Classico sub-region which is deemed to produce wines of particularly esteemed quality.
Italy is a wine-making powerhouse, renowned for its diverse range of wines and regions including Tuscany, Piedmont, and Veneto.
Amarone is a dry red wine classification from Italy’s Valpolicella region, made using partially dried grapes through the appassimento method. This process concentrates flavours and sugars, resulting in full-bodied wines with high alcohol and complex, dried fruit characteristics.
