Le Pergole Torte was first produced in 1977. The grapes come from vines planted between 1968 and 1999. It is aged for one year in Allier barriques and one year in Slavonian oak barrels.
Montevertine is a family-owned winery in Tuscany’s Chianti region, established in 1967. Renowned for its Sangiovese-based wines, including the flagship Le Pergole Torte, the estate emphasises low yields, biodynamic farming, and traditional winemaking to express terroir purity.
Sangiovese is a red grape variety native to Italy and is the most widely-planted in the country. The grape is key to a number of blends but is particularly known for those made in Tuscany.
