Taylor's Very Old 1969 Single Harvest Tawny Port

This extraordinary 1969 Taylor's Very Old Single Harvest Tawny Port is the sixth in a series of 50 year old, limited edition releases. It was bottled after a half-century of ageing.

Taylor Fladgate & Yeatman, more commonly known as \"Taylor’s\" was founded in 1692 and is one of the largest, oldest and most well-known of all the founding Port houses with over three centuries of production.

Tawny Port is a particular style of Port in which the fortified wines are aged for a number of years in small oak casks.  This process of deliberate and careful oxidative maturation imparts typical characteristics of stewed fruits, nuts and leather.  The wines do not age or improve further upon bottling.

Two Hands was formed in 1999 by Michael Twelftree and Richard Mintz, with the objective to produce the best Shiraz based wines of Australia.

The wine portfolio aims to exhibit the diversity of Australian Shiraz by sourcing grapes from mulitple region and producing wines that highlight the regional characteristics.

.This is a 6 litre Imperial bottle. Large-format bottles are great for extended ageing periods due to the wine's slower rate of maturation.

Jean-Noël Gagnard 'Blanchot Dessus' 2001 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er-Cru 4x75cl

Chardonnay from the Premier Cru vineyard, Blanchot Dessu, in the iconic Burgundian appellation of Chassagne-Montrachet; matured for 18 months in approximately 1/3 new French oak. 

The highly regarded Blanchot Dessus vineyard is a small 1.1 hectare site - considered to be of equal quality to that of a Grand Cru vineyard. 

Jean-Noël Gagnard produces only 80 cases from this site each year.

Jaffelin 1988 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru

Chardonnay from the iconic Grand Cru vineyard and appellation of Corton-Charlemagne within the subregion of Côte-de-Beaune, Burgundy.

The average age of the Corton-Charlemagne vines is approximately 50+ years. The wines are typically aged in traditional oak barrels, new oak use varies depending on the winery. 

Torbreck \"RunRig\" 2004 Barossa

Northern-Rhone style blend of Shiraz and Viognier from the renowned Barossa valley in South Australia.

The Shiraz component is matured for 30 months in French Oak (70% new oak); The Viognier component is matured for approximately 6 months in used oak barrels; blending takes place just prior to bottling.

Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Blanc-De-Blancs 2011 Vintage Champagne

Iconic Shiraz from Australia's Clare Valley, located just north of Adelaide; Matured for 18 months in French oak.

This is a 1.5 litre magnum bottle. Large-format bottles are great for extended ageing periods due to the wine's slower rate of maturation.

100% Sangiovese from the Tuscan town of Montalcino.

Brunello di Montalcino is one of the great under-appreciated wines of Italy.  100% Sangiovese which undergoes an extended period of pre-fermentation maceration to extract maximum colour, flavour and tannins which affords the wine its ability to mature for long periods.  Brunello di Montalcino must be aged in oak - commonly Slavonian oak - for a minimum of 2 years, though traditionally winemakers would age their Brunellos in oak for at least 3 years prior to release.

Torbreck The Factor 2006 Barossa 2x75cl

Single vineyard Shiraz with small amounts of the white wine grape Viognier from South Australia's renowned Barossa Valley: matured for 18 months in used French oak barrels. 

Torbreck, named after a forest in Scotland, was founded in 1994 by Dave Powell and has quickly become one of the most revered producers in Australia creating wines from some of the most renowned vineyards in the area. The first wine made under the Torbreck label was the 1995 RunRig, which was released in 1997.

Domaine Josmeyer 'H' Vieilles Vignes Pinot Auxerrois 2012 Alsace 6x75cl

Dry white wine made from old vine Pinot Auxerrois from the eastern French wine-region of Alsace: matured in stainless steel or large oak barrels depending on the vintage. 

H is made from two plots of vines located in the Grand-Cru vineyard of Hengst that have an average age of 60 years. Pinot Auxerrois is not recognized as a “noble” grape variety in Alsace and is therefore not entitled to the Grand Cru appellation.
