Primitivo is a red wine grape variety that is indigenous to Italy and is widely grown in the southern regions of Puglia and Calabria. In the United States it is known as Zinfandel where it is considered one of the signature wine grapes of California.

Characteristics

The wine is known for its good balance between tannins and acidity, with a long, smooth finish. Primitivo is often described as having a warm and spicy character, with a rich and velvety texture.
