This wine comes from the Romas patch within the renowned Blewitt Springs vineyard which was planted in 1920 and the 1940's.
In 1990, Roman Bratasiuk founded Clarendon Hills winery in Clarendon, 40 kilometres (25 miles) south of Adelaide in the McLaren Vale Wine Region of South Australia. The region was selected because of the significant number of old (aged 50 to 90 years) vineyards nearby.
Grenache is a red wine grape variety that is widely grown in the Southern Rhône region of France and is one of the most widely cultivated grape varieties in the world with plantings in Spain, Italy, California, and Australia.
