n 1990, Roman Bratasiuk founded Clarendon Hills winery in Clarendon, 40 kilometres (25 miles) south of Adelaide in the McLaren Vale Wine Region of South Australia. The region was selected because of the significant number of old (aged 50 to 90 years) vineyards nearby.
