In Saint-Émilion, a separate and regularly updated classification system recognizes a few top estates as Premier Grand Cru Classé A and B, with only a handful achieving the highest tier. This title reflects not only a wine's historical significance but also its ongoing excellence in vineyard management, terroir expression, and winemaking. Wines from Premier Grand Cru Classé estates are highly sought after for their complexity, longevity, and prestige.
