Château Batailley 1970
From the Pauillac appellation, Château Batailley was recognised as a 5th Growth (5ème Cru) estate of Pauillac in the 1855 Classification of the Médoc.
Château Batailley is one of the oldest estates in Bordeaux with a history dating back to the 15th century. In 1942 it was divided into the two separate estates that we know today; Château Batailley and Château Haut Batailley.
Classic Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend; Matured in French Oak barrels (55% new) for approximately 16-18 months.

Château Batailley is situated in the Pauillac appellation of the Médoc region in Bordeaux, France. It is one of the oldest estates in the Médoc. The name is derived from the battle (bataille) - that took place where the château and vineyard are today - during the 100-years war in 1452.
