This 1983 vintage is made from a blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot.
Château Palmer ages their Grand Vin for over 20 months in a combination of new and previously used barrels and foudres.
Located in the appellation of Margaux, Château Palmer was ranked as a 3rd-Growth (3ème-Cru) Grand Cru estate in the famed 1855 Classification of the Medoc. The estate produces two wines- Château Palmer grand vin and a second label named Alter Ego, earlier known as La Réserve du Géneral.
