Côte-Rôtie is subdivided into two distinct areas which reference the varying soil types; Côte Brune and the Côte Blonde.
This wine is made from a blend of around 96% Syrah and 4% Viognier from plots on the steep slopes of Côte Blonde and the limestone soil of Côte Brune: rich in iron oxide.
