From the appellation of Margaux, Château Rauzan-Gassies is a 2nd Growth (2eme Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc.
Their wine is a classic Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend; Matured for 12-14 months in French Oak barrels. Cabernet Sauvignon makes up a minimum of three quarters of the final blend of Château Rauzan-Gassies.

Originally part of the gigantic Rauzan estate in the mid 17th century, it was split up over time into the smaller properties of Rauzan-Gassies, Rauzan-Ségla, Marquis de Terme and Ch. Desmirail.
