Vosne-Romanée

The renowned Vosne-Romanée appellation is located in Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits and is celebrated for producing some of the world’s finest wines from Pinot Noir. While most wines are made from 100% Pinot Noir, AOC regulations allow up to 15% of certain white grapes—Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, or Pinot Gris—to be included, though this practice is almost never used by producers. The village was originally called Vosne, but in 1866 “Romanée” was added to honor its most famous vineyard, La Romanée. Vosne-Romanée is also home to several other highly prized Grand Cru vineyards, including Romanée-Conti, La Tâche, Richebourg, La Grande Rue, and Romanée-Saint-Vivant, as well as numerous esteemed Premier Cru sites.
