Château Lagrange à Pomerol was bought in 1953 by Jean-Pierre Moueix of Château Pétrus fame. It is unrelated to the Château Lagrange estate in Saint-Julien. The Pomerol estate makes classic Right Bank wines, largely Merlot (90–100%) based with small amounts of Cabernet Franc.
France is widely recognized as one of the world's premier wine-producing countries, renowned for its diverse range of wine styles and regions, including Champagne, Bordeaux, and Burgundy.
AOC (Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée) is France’s official wine classification system, regulating geographic origin, grape varieties, viticulture, and winemaking practices to ensure quality and authenticity. It protects traditional regional wine styles and names.
