Passito di Pantelleria is a unique vino liquoroso (fortified) Moscato from the Italian island of Pantelleria, located halfway between the coasts of Sicily and Tunisia; produced from the white wine grape Zibibbo (aka Muscat of Alexandria) using the Passito method of partially rack-drying the grapes pre-fermentation.
Zibibbo, also known as Muscat of Alexandria, is an ancient white grape variety cultivated mainly in southern Italy, particularly on the island of Pantelleria. It is used to produce aromatic wines, often sweet or fortified, with floral, citrus, and dried fruit notes.
Italy is a wine-making powerhouse, renowned for its diverse range of wines and regions including Tuscany, Piedmont, and Veneto.
