Owned by the Bécot family since 1995, Château La Gomerie was produced exclusively from 100% Merlot grown on a tiny one-hectare vineyard. After a fire in 2011, the Bécot family integrated the La Gomerie vines into Beau-Séjour Bécot, making 2011 the estate’s final vintage.
Merlot is a red wine grape variety that is widely grown in various wine regions, especially in Bordeaux, France. Considered a very versatile grape, it can produce a range of wine styles, from lighter, fruitier wines to more complex, full-bodied wines with aging potential.
France is widely recognized as one of the world's premier wine-producing countries, renowned for its diverse range of wine styles and regions, including Champagne, Bordeaux, and Burgundy.
