From the Pauillac appellation, Château Haut-Batailley was recognised as a 5th Growth (5ème Cru) estate of Pauillac in the 1855 Classification of the Médoc.
Château Batailley is one of the oldest estates in Bordeaux. In 1942 it was divided into the two separate estates that we know today; Château Batailley and Château Haut Batailley.
Their wine is a classic Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend
Château Haut-Batailley is located in the Pauillac appellation of Bordeaux, France. The winery has a history dating back to the 16th century and is currently owned by the Cazes family, who also own Château Lynch-Bages. Red wines are made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot.
