From the famed Château d'Yquem, this is a white wine blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon from the regional appellation of Bordeaux-Supérieur.
Produced in small quantities, Y (aka Ygrec) is a rare wine made from the same vines as Château d'Yquem's renowned Sauternes 1er-Cru-Superior. It was formerly made at the end of the harvest, with the last bunches left on the vines. These grapes, affected to varying degrees by Botrytis cinerea however this changed since the 1996 vintage with the wine being made in a more "fresh and crisp" style.
