Château Ducru-Beaucaillou is a 2nd Growth (2ème Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc, and frequently regarded as one of the leading "Super Seconds". Their 75-hectare vineyard has an average vine age of 35 years, however, Ducru-Beaucaillou also has old vines. Their oldest plot is the Les Sadons parcel was planted all the way back in 1918.
The wine is a classic Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend; Matured for approximately 18 months in 60%-70% new oak.
Château Ducru-Beaucaillou is a wine estate located in the Saint-Julien appellation of the Médoc region in Bordeaux, France. It is one of the oldest estates in the Médoc and it’s history can be traced as far back as the beginning of the 13th century. Bertrand Ducru purchased the estate in 1795.
