The unique wines of Château-Chalon share many similarities with Sherry; however, unlike Sherry, they are not fortified and are always dry. These wines are produced exclusively in the Vin Jaune (“yellow wine”) style and are made solely from Savagnin grapes harvested at full ripeness. Château-Chalon wines are renowned for their remarkable ability to benefit from several decades of bottle maturation.
Savagnin is a white wine grape primarily grown in France’s Jura region. It is best known for its role in Vin Jaune, a distinctive oxidative wine.
France is widely recognized as one of the world's premier wine-producing countries, renowned for its diverse range of wine styles and regions, including Champagne, Bordeaux, and Burgundy.
AOC (Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée) is France’s official wine classification system, regulating geographic origin, grape varieties, viticulture, and winemaking practices to ensure quality and authenticity. It protects traditional regional wine styles and names.
