Ruinart Blanc-de-Blancs Brut 1988 Vintage Champagne 150cl

1988 vintage Champagne from the renowned House of Ruinart.

Blanc-De-Blancs Champagne are made exclusively from the white grape variety, Chardonnay.

This is a 1.5 litre magnum bottle. Large-format bottles are great for extended ageing periods due to the wine's slower rate of maturation.

Chardonnay from the Premier-Cru climat of Charmes within the Burgundian appellation of Meursault.

Remoissenet Pere & Fils was founded in 1877 in Beaune. Hospices de Civiles de Beaune is a former charitable almshouse founded in 1443 in the town of Beaune. It is now a modern hospital, with the original buildings serving as a museum.

Since 1859, a charity wine auction has raised funds for the hospital with the wines produced being released under the Hospice's umbrella label.

R. Lopez de Heredia Vina Tondonia 2008 Rioja Reserva

A Tempranillo dominant blend from the northern Spanish DOC of Rioja; Matured in oak barrels for approximately 6 years.

Established by Don Rafael López de Heredia in 1877, R. López de Heredia is one of the most well known and respected wineries in Rioja today. An interesting note- when the term \"Reserva\" was defined in the 1970s, the owner of Viña Tondonia, objected on the grounds that the new terms were too lenient - even his most basic wine far exceeding the \"Gran Reserva\" requirements - and so refused to use the new classifications on his labels.

Rioja is arguably Spain's top wine region and is one of only two regions classified under the Denominación de Origen Calificada (DOCa) system. Other than Tempranillo and Garnacha, Graciano and Mazuelo (Carignan) are also used in the red wines of Rioja. 

Rosemount 'Old Benson' Fine Old Tawny Port NV Australia 3x50cl

A non-vintage sweet, fortified wine from South Eastern Australia. Made in the same style as that of the famous Portuguese fortified wine, Port, produced in the Douro Valley.

Made from a blend of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Tokay grapes aged for an average of 10 years. 

Tawny Port is a particular style of Port in which the fortified wines are aged for a number of years in small oak casks.  This process of deliberate and careful oxidative maturation imparts typical characteristics of stewed fruits, nuts and leather. The wines do not age or improve further upon bottling.
