Piper Heidsieck 'Rare' 2008 Vintage Champagne​ 3x75cl

2006 vintage Champagne from the historic House of Piper-Heidsieck.

First created with the 1976 vintage, Rare has since only produced in exceptional years.

Piper-Heidsieck was founded in 1785 by Florens-Louis Heidsieck. The history of the house can be traced back to the original Heidsieck and Co., which was split into three different operations- the others being Heidsieck Monopole and Charles Heidsieck. Marilyn Monroe was one of the House's earliest supporters, rumoured to have kept a month's supply of champagne in her kitchen.

Paul Jaboulet 'La Chapelle' 1985 Hermitage 2x75cl

Syrah from the iconic northern Rhône Valley appellation of Hermitage; Aged for an undisclosed period in 20% new oak. 

Paul Jaboulet is one of the most prominent names in the Rhône and Hermitage. La Chapelle is their flagship wine, made from 100% Syrah from a blend from their top sites including the acclaimed vineyards of Les Bessards, Le Meal and Les Rocoules. The estate also produce a \"La Chapelle blanc\" which is made from 100% Marsanne grapes.

Pol Roger 'Sir Winston Churchill' Brut 2006 Vintage Champagne

2006 vintage Champagne from the renowned House of Pol Roger.

Champagne Pol Roger created their Prestige Cuvée in homage to Sir Winston Churchill who was a long term customer of the Champagne House. It is only produced in their very best vintages.

Antinori 'Tignanello' 1991 Tuscany

Famed Sangiovese dominant Super-Tuscan blend; Matured in small oak barrels for 12-18 months in combination of new and used oak.

Marchesi Antinori is one of Tuscany’s most iconic producers and can trace its history back to 1385 with twenty-six generations of the Antinori family personally managing the business. In 1971, Antinori released the first vintage of Tignanello - A blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc that has since become the flagship wine of Antinori. 

Perrier-Jouët Grand-Brut NV Champagne 6x75cl

Non-vintage Champagne from renowned producer, Perrier-Jouët.

Grand Brut dates back to 1846, when Perrier-Jouët launched the Cuvée K, the world’s first lightly dosed champagne in the style today known as “brut”.

Yalumba 'The Caley' Cabernet Shiraz 2012 South Australia

2012 marked the inaugural vintage of Yalumba's flagship wine The Caley- a multi-regional blend of Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon and old-vine Barossa Valley Shiraz.

Established in 1849, Yalumba is Australia’s oldest and most renowned family owned wineries. Located near the town of Angaston, South Australia in the Barossa Valley wine region. The property is named \"Yalumba\" after an indigenous Australian word for \"all the land around\".

Bottled in January 2014 after maturing in new and seasoned French oak barriques and hogsheads. 

Antinori 'Tignanello' 1994 Tuscany

Avignonesi Vin Santo 1975 Toscana 

Vin Santo is a traditional sweet wine from the Italian region of Tuscany.  Typically, the wine will be made from the white grapes of the Trebbiano and/or Malvasia varieties, dried on straw mats to concentrate the natural flavours and grape sugars, then pressed and partially fermented with moderate to high residual sugars.

Vino Santo may vary in colour from a pale to gold, dark amber to even neon orange. 

This wine is made from a blend of Trebbiano and Malvasia grapes matured for a minimum of 10 years in 50-litre oak casks.

Prunotto Bussia 1988 Barolo 2x75cl

Barolo, often referred to as the “king of wines”,  must always be made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes-, and matured for a minimum period of 38 months, 18 of which must be in oak barrels - (traditionally in large Slavonian oak casks).

Barolo wine comes from a traditional village of the same name located in the northern region of Piemonte. It is so revered that it was one of just three wines awarded DOCG status on the same day that the classification was introduced in July 1980. The region encompasses 11 villages in the heart of Piemonte, Most of the estates are small and family-owned, therefore production of wines from the Barolo DOCG is low.

This wine comes from a single vineyard in the Bussia Monforte d’Alba area and is aged for 18 months in oak barrels.

A Non-vintage Rosé Brut and Brut Champagne from the House of Charles Heidsieck.

The history of the house can be traced back to the original Heidsieck and Co., which was split into three different operations- Charles Heidsieck, Piper-Heidsieck and Heidsieck & Co Monopole. The Charles Heidsieck Champagne House was founded in 1851 by Charles Camille Heidsieck who became affectionately known as \"Champagne Charlie\".

Pinot Noir from the renowned Martinborough region in the south of New Zealand's North Island.

Ata Rangi was founded in 1980 and is a small family-owned organic winery located in Martinborough.

Alfred Gratien Brut 1979 Vintage Champagne

1979 vintage Champagne from the House of Alfred Gratien.

The Alfred Gratien Champagne House was founded in Epernay in 1864 and is still a family run house to this day. 

Pieroth 'Bechtolsheimer Petersberg' Beerenauslese Ortega 2003 Rheinhessen 3x75cl

Sweet white wine made from the Ortega grape, from the single vineyard of Petersberg in the village of Bechtolsheimer within the Rheinhessen wine-region just south-west of Frankfurt.

Beerenauslese is a German classification for a late harvest, very sweet wine. Beerenauslese, often called \"BA\" for short, wines are a category and level of sweetness above Auslese and are made from grapes affected by noble rot, i.e.\"botrytised \" grapes.

Paul Jaboulet Le Chevalier De Sterimberg 2000 Hermitage Blanc

A white wine blend of Marsanne and Roussanne from the iconic Northern Rhone Valley appellation of Hermitage.

The French appellation of Hermitage is most well known for it's red wine production from the Syrah grape, however, small quantities of white wine such as this are also produced from Roussane and Marsanne grapes.

Château Haut-Bages Averous, later renamed Echo de Lynch-Bages as of the 2008 vintage, is the second wine from the classified 5th-Growth (5eme-Cru) Pauillac estate, Chateau Lynch-Bages.

This lot contains the following;

• Chateau Theulet 1995 Monbazillac 75cl - 14%
• Chateau Les Sablines 2006 Monbazillac 50cl - 12.5%

As with the famous wines of Sauternes, the sweet white wines of Monbazillac are affected by the noble fungus, Botrytis Cinerea, which dehydrates the grapes to raisins, leaving only the sweet sugary pulp for pressing.  Where the two appellations differ is the grapes which make up the blends: Sauternes is mostly Semillon with some Sauvignon Blanc; Monbazillac is mostly Muscadelle, with some Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc - generally creating a slightly more delicate style.
