Châ​teau Petrus 1961 Pomerol

Châ​teau Petrus is undisputedly the top wine estate in the Bordeaux right-bank appellation of Pomerol and rightly lays claim to being one of the most famous estates in the world of wine.  Unofficially recognised as a \"Premier Grand Cru\" (no such classification exists in Pomerol), Petrus is considered first-among-equals with the likes of Mouton- and Lafite-Rothschild in regards to both quality and iconic stature. As there is no second wine at Pétrus, where the declassified juice ends up is one of the wine world’s great mysteries.

Petrus is small estate of just 11.4 hectares (28 acres) and produces its single-varietal wine entirely from Merlot grapes. Prior to 2010, small amounts of Cabernet Franc were used in some vintages. The wines are aged in 100% new oak barrels for an average of 20 months.

Cork shows vintage date and relevant information expected for an authentic Petrus.

Château Mouton-Rothschild 2007 Pauillac 1er-Cru 6x75cl

Château Mouton-Rothschild is one of the great Bordeaux wine estates.  In spite of its prominence, the estate was listed as only a 2nd-Growth in the famed 1855 Classification of Medoc - an injustice that was finally confirmed with their promotion to the exclusive rank of 1st-Growth in 1973.

The vineyards of Château Mouton-Rothschild are planted to 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot - a ratio to which their wine roughly follows with slight annual variation; Matured in 100% new French Oak barrels for 18-22 months.

This 2007 vintage is made from a blend of 81% Cabernet Sauvignon with 19% Merlot.

This bottling features artwork by French sculptor and graphic artist Bernar Venet.

Tenuta San Guido 'Sassicaia' 2006 Bolgheri 6x75cl

First released with the 1968 vintage, Sassicaia is one of Italy's greatest and most iconic wines.  A \"Super-Tuscan\" by nature of being made from grape varieties not native to Tuscany, and which pays significant homage - and competition - to Bordeaux.

The wine is a Cabernet Sauvignon dominant blend with Cabernet Franc; Matured for 20-25 months in French Oak barriques.

Château La Mission Haut-Brion 2019 Pessac-Léognan Grand-Cru 6x75cl

Château La Mission Haut-Brion from the Pessac-Léognan appellation (originally Graves before 1987), is widely regarded as being on par with the five prestigious 1st-Growth estates as ranked in the famed 1855 Classification of the Medoc; itself ranked within the Classification of Graves 1959.

Typically a Merlot dominant blend closely followed by Cabernet Sauvignon and with a small proportion of Cabernet Franc; aged in oak barriques (70-85% new) for 18- 20 months.

This 2019 vintage is made from a blend of; 53% Merlot, 39.5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7.5% Cabernet Franc.

Château Margaux 1996 Margaux 1er-Cru 2x75cl

Giving its estate's name to the greater appellation and ranked as one of the original four 1st Growths (1er-Cru) in the famed 1855 Classification of Medoc, Château Margaux is one of the great Bordeaux wine estates.

Joseph Drouhin 'Marquis de Laguiche' 1998 Montrachet Grand-Cru 3x75cl

Chardonnay from the iconic Burgundian Grand Cru vineyard and appellation of Montrachet: matured for 18-21 months in 30% new French oak barrels. 

This wine comes from the Marquis de Laguiche estate which is entirely located on the Puligny side of the appellation. From the renowned négociant house Joseph Drouhin of Burgundy.

Olivier Leflaive 1991 Montrachet Grand-Cru 2x75cl

Famed Burgundian Chardonnay from the legendary Grand Cru vineyard and appellation of Montrachet located in the Côte de Beaune subregion.

The Montrachet Grand-Cru from Olivier Leflaive comes from 8 hectares of vines within Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet. It is matured for 18 months, 6 of which in stainless steel and 12 months in oak barrels, 10% of which are new.

Louis Roederer Cristal 1996 Vintage Champagne 3x75cl

1996 vintage Champagne from Louis Roederer's prestige brand, Cristal.

Cristal is typically made from a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay grapes and is matured for 6 years followed by a further 8 months after disgorgement. 

Founded in 1776, the renowned Louis Roederer Champagne house is one of the last great independent and family-run Champagne houses. Cristal is their flagship cuvée, created in 1876 for emperor Alexander II, tsar of Russia.

Château de Beaucastel 'Hommage Jacques Perrin' 2018 Châteauneuf-du-Pape 3x75cl

Château de Beaucastel is one of the best known estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Hommage Jacques Perrin is their flagship cuvée produced only in the very best vintages and made from a Mourvèdre (approximately 60%) dominant blend.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape is one of France's iconic appellations.  Located in the Southern Rhône Valley, the appellation is most commonly known for its Grenache-dominant red wines with Syrah and Mourvèdre lead the cast of supporting grapes. White wines are also produced in exceedingly smaller volumes.

J.F Coche-Dury 2004 Meursault

Renowned Chardonnay from the Burgundian appellation of Meursault.

The acclaimed Domaine Coche-Dury was founded in 1973 by Jean-François Coche and is famed for it's top class Chardonnay. Since 1999 the estate has been under the stewardship of Jean-François son, Raphaël.

Louis Latour 2014 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru 6x75cl

Chardonnay from the iconic Grand Cru vineyard and appellation of Corton-Charlemagne within the subregion of Côte-de-Beaune, Burgundy; aged for 8-10 months in 100% new oak French oak barrels from the Louis Latour cooperage. 

The Latour family have long been established in Burgundy’s wine trade. Originally vine growers in the village of Aloxe-Corton as early as 1768, they went on to establish today’s business, Maison Louis Latour. Today they are one of the best known and largest vineyard owners of grand cru sites in Burgundy.

The average age of the Corton-Charlemagne vines is approximately 50+ years. The wines are typically aged in traditional oak barrels, new oak use varies depending on the winery.

Château Lafite-Rothschild 2005 Pauillac 1er-Cru

Classic Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend; matured in new oak barrels for between 18 to 20 months.

Château Lafite Rothschild is an iconic first-growth property in Pauillac, North West of Bordeaux, France with vines first planted in the late 16th century by the Ségur family. It achieved its top-tier rank in 1855 and has been in the Rothschild family since 1868.

Lafite was listed as one of only four 1st Growths in the famed 1855 Classification of Medoc - though sister-estate Château Mouton-Rothschild gained promotion from 2nd (2eme Cru) to 1st-Growth in 1973.

Château Cheval Blanc 2010 Saint-Émilion 1er-Grand Cru

Classified as Premier Grand Cru Classé \"A\" and rightly considered an equal to the First Growth wines of the Medoc, Château Cheval Blanc is undisputedly the top wine estate in the appellation of Saint-Émilion. In 2021 Château Cheval Blanc voluntary withdrew from the official Saint-Émilion classification system.

Château Cheval Blanc is made from a fairly even blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc with a small portion of Cabernet Sauvignon; matured for approximately 18 months in 100% new French Oak barrels.

This 2010 vintage is a blend of 50% Cabernet Franc, 48% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. 

Château Latour 1970 Pauillac 1er-Cru 2x75cl

From the Pauillac appellation and ranked as one of the original four 1st Growths (1er-Cru) in the famed 1855 Classification of Médoc, Château Latour is one of the great Bordeaux wine estates.

Château Latour's Grand Vin is a classic left-bank Bordeaux-blend, produced exclusively from grapes picked from old-vines with Cabernet Sauvignon contributing to over 90% of the final blend.; Maturation takes place in French Oak barrels for 18 months.

From the Pauillac appellation and ranked as one of the original four 1st Growths (1er-Cru) in the famed 1855 Classification of Médoc, Château Latour is one of the great Bordeaux wine estates.

Château Latour's Grand Vin is a classic left-bank Bordeaux-blend, produced exclusively from grapes picked from old-vines with Cabernet Sauvignon contributing to over 90% of the final blend.; Maturation takes place in French Oak barrels for 18 months.

Comte Armand 'Clos des Epeneaux' 2017 Pommard 1er-Cru 6x75cl

Pinot Noir from the Premier Cru vineyard of Clos des Epeneaux Noires in the Burgundian appellation of Pommard.

The highly regarded, walled vineyard of Clos des Epeneaux has been owned by the Comte Armand family since 1825. The 5.23 hectare vineyards vines are aged between 30 and 80 years and is planted entirely to Pinot Noir.

Comte Armand ages their wines for between 18-24 months from zero to 30% new oak.

Château Beychevelle 2010 Saint-Julien 4eme-Cru 6x75cl

Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend; matured for approximately 18 months in French Oak barrels (50% New).

Located in the appellation of Saint-Julien, the prestigious Château Beychevelle is a 4th Growth (4eme Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc.

Beychevelle means “lower sails\" and was named in honour of Jean-Louis Nogaret de la Valette (Duke of Eperon) - the first owner of Beychevelle, who was also a Navy Admiral of France. Today the Chateau is owned by Grands Millésimes de France (Castel and Suntory Group).

Domaine Des Lambrays 2012 Clos Des Lambrays Grand Cru 3x75cl

Pinot Noir from the Grand Cru Burgundian walled-vineyard and appellation of Clos Des Lambrays; Aged for 18 months in 50% new oak barriques.

The historic Domaine de Lambrays is one of Burgundy’s oldest estates dating back to the 14th century. The Domaine is best known for its namesake vineyard, the Clos des Lambrays, which was granted grand cru status in 1981.

Château Haut-Brion 1990 Pessac-Léognan 1er-Grand-Cru

From the appellation of Pessac-Léognan (originally Graves before 1987), Château Haut-Brion is one of the great Bordeaux wine estates, listed as one of only five 1st Growth (1er-Cru) in the famed 1855 Classification of Médoc. Although Haut Brion was located in Graves (the other four are in the Médoc), the Château was recognised for the exceptional quality of its wines and has always merited its place amongst the finest wines of Bordeaux and indeed the world.

The wines of Château Haut-Brion feature varying compositions of approximately 40-50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40-60% Merlot, with Cabernet Franc; matured in oak barrels (approximately 70-80% new) for 18-22 months.

Château Lynch-Bages 2014 Pauillac 5eme-Cru 6x75cl

From the appellation of Pauillac, Château Lynch-Bages is a 5th Growth (5eme Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Médoc.

The Château Lynch-Bages wine is a classic Cabernet Sauvignon dominant (60-80%), left-bank Bordeaux-blend; Matured for a period of 15-18 months in 50-75% new French oak barrels.

Château Montrose 2017 Saint-Estèphe 2eme-Cru 6x75cl

Château Montrose is a 2nd Growth (2eme Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc, and is frequently referred to as one of the leading \"Super Seconds\" - 2nd Growth wines of quality comparable to the 1st Growths.

Typically a classic Bordeaux-blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc from the left-bank appellation of Saint-Estèphe; Matured for approximately 18 months in 60% new French Oak barrels.

Royal Tokaji 'Essencia' 1993 Tokaji 37.5cl

This 1993 vintage was the inaugural release of the legendary Essencia from the Royal Tokaji Wine Company. Bottled in 2002.

Essencia is the richest and sweetest of Tokaji wines, produced only in exceptional years from the free-run juice of the aszú berries. Royal Tokaji has offered a very limited quantity of Essencia- only a handful of times in its nineteen-year history. It is so incredibly rich and concentrated that it’s to be served in a spoon rather than a glass.

The wines of Tokaji are produced from the white wine grape Furmint, left on the vines until affected by the noble fungus, Botrytis Cinerea, which dehydrates the grapes to raisins, leaving only the sweet sugary pulp with which to make the most incredible sweet wine.

 This wine was aged for nine years in glass jars and has 580 grams of sugar per litre.

Krug Brut 1971 Vintage Champagne

Mature 1971 vintage Champagne from the iconic House of Krug. 

Krug is a Champagne house founded by Joseph Krug in 1843. It is based principally in Reims, the main city in France's Champagne region and is one of the famous Champagne houses that formed part of the Grandes marques.

Krug is part of the wider Moët Hennessy group of companies. Although no longer owned by the Krugs, the family is still heavily involved with sixth-generation Olivier Krug Director of the House today.

Il Marroneto 'Madonna della Grazie' 2007 Brunello di Montalcino 500cl

100% Sangiovese from the Tuscan town of Montalcino. The grapes comes from the historic Madonna vineyard located under the Madonna delle Grazie chapel, and is aged in quintal oak barrels for 41 months.

Brunello di Montalcino is one of the great under-appreciated wines of Italy. 100% Sangiovese which undergoes an extended period of pre-fermentation maceration to extract maximum colour, flavour and tannins which affords the wine its ability to mature for long periods.  Brunello di Montalcino must be aged in oak - commonly Slavonian oak - for a minimum of 2 years, though traditionally winemakers would age their Brunellos in oak for at least 3 years prior to release.

This is a 5 litre bottle. Large-format bottles are great for extended ageing periods due to the wine's slower rate of maturation.

Dom Perignon 1988 Vintage Champagne 150cl

1988 vintage Champagne from Moët & Chandon's prestige brand, Dom Pérignon.

Dom Pérignon is only available as a vintage champagne and is only produced in exceptional years. Each vintage is made from an approximate blend of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay from many grapes from Grand Cru vineyards. It takes it's name from Dom Pierre Pérignon, a Benedictine monk who was an important quality pioneer for Champagne wine in the 17th century.

This is a 1.5 litre magnum bottle. Large-format bottles are great for extended ageing periods due to the wine's slower rate of maturation.

Bond 'Pluribus' 2011 Oakville, Napa Valley

Cabernet Sauvignon dominant Bordeaux-style blend from the Oakville AVA of California's renowned Napa Valley

First released with the 2003 vintage, Pluribus comes from a mountainous 7 acre vineyard of the same name located at an elevation of over 1,100 feet on the slopes of Spring Mountain.

A dry Madeira made from Sercial grapes, drawn from a solera system established in 1870. 

Madeira is a fortified wine produced from native grapes grown exclusively on the Portuguese island of Madeira. The four major white grape varieties used for Madeira production, (from sweetest to driest) are; Malvasia, Bual, Verdelho, and Sercial.

Isole e Olena 'Cepparello' 1990 Tuscany 6x75cl

100% Sangiovese from the classic Italian wine-region of Tuscany.

Isole e Olena was established in 1952 by renowned Chianti Classico producers, the De Marchi family, when they purchased and amalgamated the two estates of 'Isole' and 'Olena. Cepparello is the flagship wine of the estate.
