Thierry Allemand Reynard 2005 Cornas 6x75cl

Syrah from the northern Rhône Valley appellation of Cornas; Matured for 18-24 months in used oak barrels followed by a further three months in foudres. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Thierry Allemand, a former electromechanical engineer began to form his small estate in the 1980s by buying abandoned plots in great areas. Nowadays, the highly regarded wines from Allemand come from the tiny estate which is still under 5 hectares (12 acres) in size.

Cornas is a French Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) in the northern Rhône wine region of France, south of Lyon. It is one of the smallest appellations in the Rhône valley and produces only red wine from the Syrah grape.

The Opus One winery was founded in 1978 in Oakville, California as a partnership between Baron Philippe De Rothschild of Bordeaux, and Napa Valley's own wine-making legend, Robert Mondavi. These renowned Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, Bordeaux-style blends were originally called Napamedoc until 1982 when they were re-named Opus One.

Ch. d'Yquem 1983 Sauternes 1er-Cru Superieur 6x75cl

The famed Chateau d'Yquem's signature Sauternes wine is made with 80% Semillon and 20% Sauvignon Blanc grapes. These grapes are affected by noble rot, left on the vines until affected by the noble fungus, Botrytis Cinerea, which dehydrates the grapes to raisins, leaving only the sweet sugary pulp with which to make the most incredible sweet wine. With a yield limited to one glass per vine, Château d'Yquem is a Sauternes wine whose rareness contributes to its prestige.

One of the world’s most prized and enviable wines, Château d’Yquem is Sauternes’ only classified Premier-Cru-Supérieur, and recognised as one of the top wines of Bordeaux.

Giacomo Conterno 'Monfortino' 2000 Barolo Riserva

This legendary wine comes from the commune of Monforte d'Alba located in the heart of the Barolo region. matured for a minimum of 7  years in large oak barrels. 

Barolo, often referred to as the “king of wines”,  must always be made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes-, and matured for a minimum period of 38 months, 18 of which must be in oak barrels - (traditionally in large Slavonian oak casks).

Barolo wine comes from a traditional village of the same name located in the northern region of Piemonte. It is so revered that it was one of just three wines awarded DOCG status on the same day that the classification was introduced in July 1980. The region encompasses 11 villages in the heart of Piemonte, Most of the estates are small and family-owned, therefore production of wines from the Barolo DOCG is low.

Krug 'Clos Du Mesnil' Blanc-de-Blancs Brut 1989 Vintage Champagne

1989 vintage Champagne from the iconic House of Krug. 

Clos du Mesnil is a rare Champagne from a small, single vineyard of the same name and is only produced in the very best of years. 

Krug is a Champagne house founded by Joseph Krug in 1843. It is based principally in Reims, the main city in France's Champagne region and is one of the famous Champagne houses that formed part of the Grandes marques.

Krug is part of the wider Moët Hennessy group of companies. Although no longer owned by the Krugs, the family is still heavily involved with sixth-generation Olivier Krug Director of the House today.

Blanc-De-Blancs wines are made exclusively from white grapes- most commonly 100% Chardonnay.

Dom. Comte Georges de Vogue 1991 Musigny Blanc Grand-Cru

Chardonnay from the Grand Cru vineyard of Musigny, within the renowned Burgundian appellation of Chambolle-Musigny. Musigny Blanc from Comte Georges de Voguë was declassified for 22 years from the 1993 to the 2015 vintage as the vines were considered too young for the quality of the iconic appellation.

The famed Domaine Comte de Vogüé was founded in Burgundy in 1450 by Jean Moisson. Modern history and the current label begin with the highly regarded Comte Georges de Vogüé who took over in 1925 and ran the Domaine for an incredible 52 years. Today the Domaine is headed by its 20th generation.

Our monthly auctions end from 7:00 PM (UK local time) on the closing date. If a bid is placed after 7:00 PM on any lot, the entire auction will be extended by an additional two minutes. 

The auction will end once all bidding has ceased for two minutes. Based on previous auction activity, the auction will continue for several hours and is most likely to finish between 9pm - 11pm (UK local time).
