Château Picque-Caillou 1982 Pessac-Léognan 150cl

A Cabernet Sauvignon dominant blend from the southern Bordeaux appellation of Pessac-Léognan: matured for 12 months in 30-40% new oak barrels. 

Typically a blend of approximately 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot.

This is a 1.5 litre magnum bottle. Large-format bottles are great for extended ageing periods due to the wine's slower rate of maturation.

Château Climens 1991 Barsac 1er-Cru 2x75cl

Château Climens was ranked as a First Growth Premier Cru (1er-Cru) in Bordeaux' famed 1855 Classification of the Medoc.

The wines of Sauternes and Barsac are produced from a blend of Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc and occasionally a small amount of Muscadelle, left on the vines until affected by the noble fungus, Botrytis Cinerea, which dehydrates the grapes to raisins, leaving only the sweet sugary pulp with which to make the one of the worlds most sought after sweet wines.

La Rioja Alta Seleccion 874 2016 Rioja Reserva 3x75cl / The Wine Society

This wine is a collaboration between the Wine Society and La Rioja Alta SA, with the 874 a reference to the 1874 founding date of the Wine Society.

It is a blend of Tempranillo (70%), Garnacha (25%) and Graciano (5%), created by Pierre Mansour of the Wine Society and Julio Saenz of La Rioja Alta.

Rioja is arguably Spain's top wine region and is one of only two regions classified under the Denominación de Origen Calificada (DOCa) system. Other than Tempranillo and Garnacha, Graciano and Mazuelo (Carignan) are also used in the red wines of Rioja. 

Established in 1890, La Rioja Alta continues to be one of the benchmarks for traditionally produced Rioja wine today.

Château de Villegeorge 1959 Haut-Médoc

An incredibly old 1959 vintage from Château de Villegeorge.

The historic Château de Villegeorge was ranked Cru Bourgeois Supérieur Exceptionnel in the 1932 classification and again in 1966.

The wine is a classic Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend from the Bordeaux sub-region of Haut-Médoc.

Château Suduiraut 1997 Sauternes 1er-Cru 2x75cl

Château Suduiraut was ranked as a First Growth Premier Cru (1er-Cru) in Bordeaux' famed 1855 Classification of the Medoc.

Château La Conseillante 1994 Pomerol

Château La Conseillante is one of the iconic wines and wineries in Pomerol. It is a Merlot dominant blend from the right-bank of Bordeaux; matured for approximately 18 months in a combination of new and second use French Oak barrels.

The Chateau's vineyards are planted with 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc - a ratio in which the wines can be expected to follow with slight vintage variation.

Ceretto 'Bricco Rocche' 1994 Barolo

Barolo, often referred to as the “king of wines”,  must always be made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes-, and matured for a minimum period of 38 months, 18 of which must be in oak barrels - (traditionally in large Slavonian oak casks).

Barolo wine comes from a traditional village of the same name located in the northern region of Piemonte. It is so revered that it was one of just three wines awarded DOCG status on the same day that the classification was introduced in July 1980. The region encompasses 11 villages in the heart of Piemonte, Most of the estates are small and family-owned, therefore production of wines from the Barolo DOCG is low.

Bricco Rocche is part of the Ceretto portfolio and is located in Castiglione Falletto.

Laurent-Perrier Brut NV Champagne 2x75cl

Non-vintage Champagne from the iconic House of Laurent-Perrier. 

The house of Laurent-Perrier was founded in 1811 by by André Michel Pierlot in the Grand Cru village of Tours-sur-Marne, and produces both vintage and non-vintage cuvee. The identity of Laurent-Perrier Champagne centres on Chardonnay, but also brings together the best Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier terroirs.

La Chapelle de La Mission Haut-Brion 2006 Pessac-Leognan 

Château La Mission Haut-Brion from the Pessac-Léognan appellation, is widely regarded as being on par with the five prestigious 1st-Growth estates as ranked in the famed 1855 Classification of the Medoc; itself ranked within the Classification of Graves 1959.

The Pessac-Léognan wine region was carved out of the Graves sub-region in 1987. Many estates in what is now Pessac-Léognan were labelled under Graves prior to 1987, such as Château La Mission Haut-Brion.

\"La Chapelle\" is the second-wine of Château La Mission Haut Brion. The wine is made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon or Merlot dominance depending on the vintage year from grapes of the estates younger vines. 

Châ​teau Haut-Marbuzet 1990 Saint-Estèphe

Classic Cabernet Sauvignon dominant Bordeaux-blend from the left-bank appellation of Saint-Estèphe. 

The vineyard of Châ​teau Haut-Marbuzet is planted to 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc- a ration in which the wines can roughly expect to follow with slight vintage variation.

The estate was classified as one of nine Crus Bourgeois Exceptionnels in the 2003 official listing.

Clos Du Mont-Olivet 2010 Châteauneuf-du-Pape

Châteauneuf-du-Pape is one of France's iconic appellations.  Located in the Southern Rhône Valley, the appellation is most commonly known for its Grenache-dominant red wines with Syrah and Mourvèdre lead the cast of supporting grapes. White wines are also produced in exceedingly smaller volumes.

Ceretto Bricco Asili 1996 Barbaresco

Nebbiolo from the renowned Piedmont region of Italy.

DOC Barbaresco is one of the great - yet largely unsung - wines of Italy. Similar to it's more famous neighbour, Barolo; Barbaresco is made from Nebbiolo grapes and must be aged for a minimum of 26 months (at least 9 months in wooden barrels) prior to release.

Châ​teau Lascombes 2009 Margaux 2eme-Cru

Château Lascombes is a 2nd Growth (2eme Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc, and is often considered a \"Super Second\" - 2nd Growth wines of quality comparable to the 1st Growths.

Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend, typically with a large Merlot composition; Matured in French Oak barrels for approximately 18 months.

Laurent-Perrier 1999 Vintage Champagne / 60th Birthday Prince of Wales 2008

1999 vintage Champagne from the iconic House of Laurent-Perrier. A special release to celebrate the 60th birthday of HRH the Price of Wales on 14th November 2008.

The famed Champagne Wine Region located in the north east of France is renowned for producing the world's most celebrated sparkling wine. Champagne is typically made from one or a combination of the three predominant grape varieties, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, although there are four other lesser-known grape varieties that are permitted to be included: Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Petit Meslier and Arbane.

Château Léoville-Barton 1980 Saint Julien 2eme-Cru

Château Leoville-Barton is a 2nd Growth (2eme Cru) estate which lies within the iconic terroir of Saint Julien in the Médoc. It is now one of only two chateau's from the 1855 Classification of the Medoc that remains in the hands of the same family that owned it at the time it was classified.

This wine is a typical Bordeaux-blend of Cabernet Sauvignon dominance (70-87%) with Merlot and Cabernet Franc; matured in a combination of new and used oak barrels for a period of 16-18 months.

Château Duhart-Milon 2003 Pauillac 4eme-Cru

From the Pauillac appellation, Château Duhart-Milon, is a 4th Growth (4eme Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc. Located close to Château Lafite-Rothschild, Château Duhart-Milon was purchased by the Rothschild (Lafite) family in 1962 - briefly thereafter renamed Ch. Duhart-Milon-Rothschild.

This wine is a classic left bank Bordeaux-blend of 60-80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20-35% Merlot: matured for 14 months in 50% new oak. 

Château de Beaucastel 2003 Châteauneuf-du-Pape

Château de Beaucastel is one of the best known estates in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. It's red Châteauneuf du Pape includes all 13 varieties of the appellation.

Châteauneuf-du-Pape is one of France's iconic appellations.  Located in the Southern Rhône Valley, the appellation is most commonly known for its Grenache-dominant red wines with Syrah and Mourvèdre lead the cast of supporting grapes. White wines are also produced in exceedingly smaller volumes.

The blend for their Châteauneuf-du-Pape red is approximately; 30% Mourvèdre, 30% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 10% with the remainder being made up other permitted varieties.

Château Gloria 1995 Saint-Julien

Classic Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend from the left-bank appellation of Saint-Julien; matured in French Oak barrels for approximately 14 months.

While not a classified estate itself - as only established in the mid 20th century - Château Gloria was formed as a result of numerous vineyard purchases from St-Julien estates ranked within the 1855 Classification of the Medoc.

The Left and Right Bank are two Bordeaux winemaking regions separated by a body of water named the Gironde Estuary, which divides into the Dordogne and Garonne rivers. The Right Bank located to the north of the Dordogne river and the Left Bank is the area directly south of the Garonne River. In the Left-Bank the wines are dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, blended with the other traditional Bordeaux varieties: Merlot, Petit Verdot. Malbec and Carménère are also permitted to be included in the blend however are rarely used in significant quantities. 

Château Rieussec 1999 Sauternes 1er-Cru 3x37.5cl

Once belonging to the Carmelite monks in Langon, the renowned Château Rieussec is now owned by Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite), since they purchased the estate in 1984. Chateau Rieussec was ranked as a First Growth Premier Cru (1er-Cru) in Bordeaux' famed 1855 Classification of the Medoc.

Château Lagrange 1995 Saint-Julien 3eme-Cru

From the appellation of Saint-Julien, Château Lagrange is a 3rd Growth (3eme Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc; Aged for approximately 20 months in 50% new French oak. 

Classic Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend featuring a substantial volume Merlot; matured in French oak barrels for 20 months.

Today Château Lagrange is owned by the Japanese liquor giant Suntory. Confusingly there is an unrelated estate of the same name located in the appellation of Pomerol.

Château Gloria 2009 Saint-Julien

Classic Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend from the left-bank appellation of Saint-Julien; matured in French Oak barrels for approximately 14 months.

Château Beychevelle 1997 Saint-Julien 4eme-Cru

Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend; matured for approximately 18 months in French Oak barrels (50% New).

Located in the appellation of Saint-Julien, the prestigious Château Beychevelle is a 4th Growth (4eme Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc.

Beychevelle means “lower sails\" and was named in honour of Jean-Louis Nogaret de la Valette (Duke of Eperon) - the first owner of Beychevelle, who was also a Navy Admiral of France. Today the Chateau is owned by Grands Millésimes de France (Castel and Suntory Group).

Château Pichon Longueville 'Réserve de la Comtesse de Lalande' 2008 Pauillac 2eme-Cru

Located in the left-bank appellation of Pauillac, Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse De Lalande (aka Chateau Pichon Lalande) is a 2nd Growth (2eme Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc.

Réserve de la Comtesse de Lalande, renamed Réserve de Pichon Comtesse since 2017, is the second-wine of Chateau Pichon Lalande and is a classic Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend.

Château Moulinet 2016 Pomerol 2x75cl

Classic Merlot dominant, right-bank Bordeaux-blend from the appellation of Pomerol.

Château Moulinet is owns 18 hectares of vines planted to 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc. The Château is owned by the renowned winemaking, Moueix family- owner of the famed Château Petrus.

Pomerol is one of the big names in Bordeaux though is the smallest of the major appellations of the city. Located in the Right Bank, the appellation has no official classification but is considered one of the world’s most revered wine regions. The region is famed for its age-worthy Merlot-based wines typically made from 100% Merlot or blended with Cabernet Franc. Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec are also permitted but rarely used.

Château Duhart-Milon Moulin de Duhart 1987 Pauillac / Baron de Rothschild Lafite 2x75cl

From the Pauillac appellation, Château Duhart-Milon is a 4th Growth (4eme Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc. Located close to Chateau Lafite-Rothschild, Ch. Duhart-Milon was purchased by the Rothschild (Lafite) family in 1962 - briefly thereafter renamed Ch. Duhart-Milon-Rothschild.

Moulin de Duhart is the second wine of Chateau Duhart Milon, which is owned by Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite). The wine is made from a Merlot dominant blend with Cabernet Sauvignon.

Louis Carillon 1996 Puligny-Montrachet 2x75cl

Chardonnay from the iconic Burgundian appellation of Puligny-Montrachet, within the subregion of Côte-de-Beaune.

The historic Domaine Louis Carillon was a highly regarded estate established in 1692. From the 2010 vintage the estate was split between brothers Jacques and his brother François.

Château La Fleur 1986 Saint-Émilion

A classic Merlot dominant, right-bank Bordeaux-blend from the appellation of Saint-Émilion.

Saint-Émilion is located in the Libournais district of Bordeaux's Right Bank. Merlot is the primary grape variety used in the wines blended with Cabernet Franc and/or Cabernet Sauvignon. Carmenere, Petit Verdot and Malbec are also permitted but rarely used.

There is a fairly complicated classification system for the appellation which includes; Premier Grand Cru Classé A, Premier Grand Cru Classé B and Grand Cru Classé. Saint-Émilion Grand Cru may also be noted on labels but without the word \"Classé\", this means the wine is not part of this classification system. In recent years some top producers in the area have voluntarily withdrawn for the classification system.

Concha y Toro 'Don Melchor' Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 1987 Maipo Valley

Single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon dominant red blend from Chile's famed Maipo Valley.

This 1987 vintage was the inaugural release of the now iconic Don Melchor.

Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey​ 1997 Sauternes 1er-Cru 2x75cl

Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey was ranked, as part of the former Chateau Peyraguey, as a First Growth Premier Cru (1er-Cru) in Bordeaux' famed 1855 Classification of the Gironde.
