Domaine Emmanuel Rouget is a winery located in the Burgundy region of France. The estate was founded by Emmanuel Rouget, nephew of the famous Henri Jayer, and is known for producing highly rated Pinot Noir wines, including the famous "Cros Parantoux" from its biodynamically farmed vineyards.
Domaine Emmanuel Rouget, situated in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, was established in the 1980s when Emmanuel Rouget, originally a tractor engineer, began working with his uncle, the esteemed winemaker Henri Jayer. Under Jayer's mentorship, Rouget adopted traditional Burgundian winemaking techniques, including low yields, pre-fermentation cold maceration, and aging in new oak barrels.
By the mid-1980s, Rouget had assumed responsibility for much of Jayer's winemaking activities. In 1996, he expanded his operations by producing wines from the vineyards of his other uncles, Lucien and Georges Jayer, as well as from parcels owned by chef Jean Crottet. Following Jayer's retirement in 2001, Rouget continued to manage and vinify wines from these esteemed vineyards, maintaining the family's winemaking legacy.
Today, Emmanuel Rouget, alongside his sons Nicolas and Guillaume, produces wines from renowned sites such as Vosne-Romanée Cros Parantoux, Echézeaux, and Les Beaux Monts. The domaine is recognized for its commitment to expressing the unique terroir of each vineyard, resulting in wines that are both elegant and reflective of their origin.
