Échezeaux
Created as an AOC (Appellation d'origine contrôlée ) 1937, the renowned Echézeaux Grand Cru appellation is located in the Côtes de Nuits between Clos de Vougeot, Chambolle Musigny and Vosne-Romanée with approximately 80 vineyard owners. Only red wine made from Pinot Noir are permitted. Regulations allow up to 15% of Chardonnay, Pinot blanc and Pinot gris as accessory grapes however this is rarely utilised.
