Château Trotte Vieille is a wine estate located in the Saint-Émilion appellation in Bordeaux, France. It has a history that dates back to the 18th century, making it one of the oldest estates in the region. Known for its traditional winemaking approach, Château Trotte Vieille produces red wines that are characterized by their elegance, complexity, and ability to age. The estate's wines are typically Merlot-dominant, with smaller proportions of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Château Trotte Vieille is recognized for its quality and is considered one of the most esteemed producers in Saint-Émilion. The origin of it's name, according to legend, is that a curious old lady living in the property in the 15th century, used to trot down regularly to the post house nearby in order to get the latest news.
