Penfolds is one of Australia's great iconic wineries and has been making world renowned wines since 1844. It was established at Magill Estate in the Adelaide Hills in 1844 by Dr Christopher Rawson Penfold and his wife Mary who In the early years, produced and sold fortified wines.
Today Penfolds offer a huge variety of wines ranging from entry-level to premier offerings such as their flagship "Grange". On its 50th birthday in 2001, Grange was listed as a South Australian heritage icon.
Established in 1844 by Dr. Christopher Rawson Penfold, this winery has a rich history of producing world-class Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as other varietals. Penfolds is known for its innovative winemaking techniques, including the creation of the renowned Penfolds Grange.
Shiraz (also known as Syrah) is a red wine grape noted for its bold, spicy flavours and dark fruit character. Thriving in warm climates, it yields rich, full-bodied wines with hints of pepper and plum. Widely grown globally, it adapts well to various winemaking styles.
