The Opus One winery was founded in 1978 in Oakville, California as a partnership between Baron Philippe De Rothschild of Bordeaux, and Napa Valley's own wine-making legend, Robert Mondavi. These renowned Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, Bordeaux-style blends were originally called Napamedoc until 1982 when they were re-named Opus One.
Opus One is a renowned winery located in Napa Valley, known for its premium Bordeaux-style red wines. Established in 1978 initially named Napamédoc, as a collaboration between Robert Mondavi and Baron Philippe de Rothschild, Opus One represents a unique partnership between two iconic wine families.
