This 1981 vintage is made from: 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Cabernet Franc: aged for 22 months in new French oak.

The Opus One winery was founded in 1978 in Oakville, California as a partnership between Baron Philippe De Rothschild of Bordeaux, and Napa Valley's own wine-making legend, Robert Mondavi. These renowned Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, Bordeaux-style blends were originally called Napamedoc until 1982 when they were re-named Opus One.
