Ratafia is a traditional, sweet fortified wine (known as vin de liqueur), produced mainly in France—especially in the Champagne and Burgundy regions—as well as in Italy and Spain. It is made by blending unfermented grape juice with brandy, which stops the fermentation process and preserves the natural sweetness of the grapes.
