Sancerre is a small appellation located in the eastern part of the Loire valley famous for it's world renowned Sauvignon Blanc- although it also produces a small amount of red and rosé wine made from Pinot Noir. Almost all of the appellation lies on the left bank of the Loire, opposite Pouilly-Fumé
