Since the formation of the Saint-Émilion Classification in 1955, Chateau Figeac has held its rank as Premier Grand Cru Classé "B", until 2022 when it was promoted to Premier Grand Cru Classé "A".

As an anomaly for Saint-Émilion, Merlot is the minor grape variety at Château Figeac. The wines being composed of approximately 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Cabernet Franc and only 30% Merlot; matured exclusively in new French Oak barrels for 15-18 months.

Château Figeac is one of the leading estates in the Bordeaux appellation of Saint- Émilion in France. The wine, with its high Cabernet content, has often been described as the most Médoc-like in Saint-Émilion. Figeac can trace its roots back to the 2nd century and a Roman senator named Figeacus.
