Valfieri 1987 Barbaresco 3x75cl

Nebbiolo from the renowned Piedmont region of Italy.

DOC Barbaresco is one of the great - yet largely unsung - wines of Italy.  Similar to it's more famous neighbour, Barolo; Barbaresco is made from Nebbiolo grapes and must be aged for a minimum of 26 months (at least 9 months in wooden barrels) prior to release.

Verget 'Valmur' 1995 Chablis Grand-Cru

Chardonnay from the Grand Cru vineyard of Valmur in the iconic Burgundian appellation of Chablis.

Chablis is located in northern Burgundy and is one of the most well-known wine regions in France producing world renowned cool-climate Chardonnay. Compared to other Burgundian Chardonnays, Chablis wines typically have little or no oak influence- though many of the Grand Cru and Premier Cru wines receive some maturation in oak barrels.

Grant Burge 'Meshach' Shiraz 1998 Barossa Valley

Old vine Shiraz from the renowned Barossa Valley in South Australia: Basket pressed and matured for 24 months in new American oak.

Meshach is named after Grant Burge's grandfather, Meshach Burge, who started the Burge winemaking tradition in Australia. This Shiraz is the flagship from the famed Grant Burge Estate and is made from old vines aged over 100 years. 

Barossa Valley is amongst Australia's oldest and most renowned wine regions. The internationally recognised region has a Mediterranean climate and is synonymous with Australia's signature grape, Shiraz. The area also boasts some of the world's oldest continually producing Shiraz, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and Riesling vines. Other prominent grapes of the region include, Semillon, Viognier and Mouvedre. 

Virginie de Valandraud 2015 Saint-Émilion

Virginie de Valandraud is the second wine of Château Valandraud. A classic Merlot dominant, right-bank Bordeaux-blend from the appellation of Saint-Émilion: aged for 20 months in new oak barrels. 

Saint-Émilion is located in the Libournais district of Bordeaux's Right Bank. Merlot is the primary grape variety used in the wines blended with Cabernet Franc and/or Cabernet Sauvignon. Carmenere, Petit Verdot and Malbec are also permitted but rarely used.

There is a fairly complicated classification system for the appellation which includes; Premier Grand Cru Classé A, Premier Grand Cru Classé B and Grand Cru Classé. Saint-Émilion Grand Cru may also be noted on labels but without the word \"Classé\", this means the wine is not part of this classification system. In recent years some top producers in the area have voluntarily withdrawn for the classification system.

Graham's 1983 Vintage Port

Vintage Port is produced only in the most exceptional deemed years from a single harvest. The fermented wine is fortified before being aged for 2-3 years in massive oak vats which preserve the ripe fruit character. Upon bottling, the wines continue to age and can reward patient maturation for many decades. The decision to declare a vintage is made by the individual Port house. 

Graham’s, one of the most famous names in the Port trade, was established in 1820 by William and John Graham. Today Graham’s remains a family-owned firm after being acquired by the Symington family in 1970.

G. Fino Es 2019 Salento Primitivo

Primitivo (aka Zinfandel) from the Italian region of Salento, at the southern end of the administrative region of Apulia, in southern Italy. It is a sub-peninsula of the Italian Peninsula, sometimes described as the \"heel\" of the Italian \"boot\". 

Val Di Suga 2003 Brunello di Montalcino 2x75cl

100% Sangiovese from the Tuscan town of Montalcino.

Brunello di Montalcino is one of the great under-appreciated wines of Italy.  100% Sangiovese which undergoes an extended period of pre-fermentation maceration to extract maximum colour, flavour and tannins which affords the wine its ability to mature for long periods.  Brunello di Montalcino must be aged in oak - commonly Slavonian oak - for a minimum of 2 years, though traditionally winemakers would age their Brunellos in oak for at least 3 years prior to release.

G.D. Vajra Coste Di Rose 2016 Barolo

Barolo, often referred to as the “king of wines”,  must always be made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes, and matured for a minimum period of 38 months, 18 of which must be in oak barrels - (traditionally in large Slavonian oak casks).

Barolo wine comes from a traditional village of the same name located in the northern region of Piemonte. It is so revered that it was one of just three wines awarded DOCG status on the same day that the classification was introduced in July 1980. The region encompasses 11 villages in the heart of Piemonte, Most of the estates are small and family-owned, therefore production of wines from the Barolo DOCG is low.

The G.D. Vajra \"Coste Di Rose\" comes from a vineyard of the same name, which is located 310 meters above sea level.

Today Graham’s remains a family-owned firm after being acquired by the Symington family in 1970. Its flagship estate is Quinta dos Malvedos, one of the Douro's greatest vineyard properties.

Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label Brut NV Champagne

Non-vintage champagne from the iconic House of Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin. 

Founded in 1772 and based in Reims, Veuve is one of the largest and most renowned Champagne houses in the world. The company was purchased in 1986 by Louis Vuitton (now part of the LVMH group formed in 1987).

Dolcetto is a red wine grape variety native to and widely grown in the Piedmont region known for its low acidity and soft fruit flavours.

Gonzalez Byass \"Matusalem\" 30 Year Old Cream Sherry 37.5cl

Cream sherry is a sweetened blend of dry wine such as Oloroso with naturally sweet Pedro Ximénez, Moscatel or Amontillado sherries- produced originally for the British palate.

This sherry was produced by González Byass- one of Spain's most well-known sherry bodegas, and matured in a single oak barrel for 30 years prior to being bottled.

Late Bottled Vintage (LBV) Port is a specific style of Ruby Port in which the fortified wine - from a single, specified vintage - is aged for an extended period of time before bottling.  Unlike Vintage Ports, LBV Ports do not continue to mature in the bottle.

Vang Dàlat Cardinal Vietnam

A mature red wine made from a Cardinal dominant blend with Shiraz from the Phan Rang region of Vietnam. 

Villa De Priori 1971 Chianti Classico Riserva 3x72cl

Sangiovese dominant blend from the iconic wine-region of Chianti in the heart of Tuscany. Classed as a Chianti Classico Riserva, this wine must have been aged for a minimum of 24 months including 3 months of bottle ageing.

Chianti Classico wines must contain a minimum of 80% of Sangiovese. The remainder can be made from native grapes such as Canaiolo or Colorino, as well as international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Wines made only from Sangiovese have been permitted since 1996.

Giotti Extra Dry Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore 300cl

Prosecco is an Italian wine region which belongs to the larger region of Veneto. It must be made from a minimum of 85% of the white wine grape, Glera- formerly known also as Prosecco. Prosecco is almost always made in sparkling (spumante) or semi-sparkling (frizzante) style but a still wine (tranquillo) is also permitted.

This is a 3 litre double magnum bottle. Large-format bottles are great for extended ageing periods due to the wine's slower rate of maturation.
