This rare bottle of Domaine Barons De Rothschild (Lafite) \"Réserve Spéciale\" is a limited edition released to commemorate the 200th anniversary of N M Rothschild & Sons from 1798 - 1998.

N.M Rothschild & Sons is the banking wing of this prestigious family.

From the Pauillac appellation and ranked as one of the original four 1st Growths (1er-Cru) in the famed 1855 Classification of Medoc, Chateau Lafite-Rothschild is one of the great Bordeaux wine estates.

This is a 1.5 litre magnum bottle. Large-format bottles are great for extended ageing periods due to the wine's slower rate of maturation.

Château Cos D'Estournel is a 2nd Growth (2eme Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc, and is frequently referred to as one of the leading \"Super Seconds\" - 2nd Growth wines of quality comparable to the 1st Growths.

From the oldest vines with an average of 55 years, this is a classic Bordeaux-blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (60-65%) and Merlot (35-40%), occasionally with small amounts of Cabernet Franc and/or Petit Verdot.

Delaforce 1970 Vintage Port

1970 vintage Port from the house of Delaforce.

Vintage Port is a specific style of Ruby Port which is made only in exceptional years and from the ripest grapes. The fermented wine is fortified before being aged for 2 years in massive oak vats which preserve the ripe fruit character. Upon bottling, the wines continue to age and can reward patient maturation for many decades.

Delaforce was founded in 1834 and quickly became a renowned port producer. In the late 1800s - early 1900s the company was distinguished with a warrant as supplier of Port to the Portuguese Royal Household. The company was acquired by the Taylor-Fladgate Fonseca group (The Fladgate Partnership) in 2001.

A Cabernet Sauvignon dominant blend from the southern Bordeaux appellation of Pessac-Léognan: matured for 12 months in 30-40% new oak barrels. 

Typically a blend of approximately 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot.

Pieroth 'Mühlhofener Rosenberg' Ruländer Eiswein 1983 Rheinpfalz 2x37.5cl

Sweet Pinot Gris, known as Ruländer in Germany, from the single vineyard of Rosenberg in the village of Mühlhofener, from the Rheinpfalz wine-region to the south of Frankfurt, Germany. 

Eiswein (or ice-wine) is made from grapes which were picked in the middle of winter. The water content inside each grape being frozen, when gently cold-pressed, the sweet sugary pulp is drawn separately and vinified to a delightfully sweet wine.

Chardonnay from the small, 1.6 hectare Burgundian Grand Cru vineyard and appellation of Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet in the Côte de Beaune subregion.

Located in the town of Martillac to the south of Bordeaux, Château Smith Haut Lafitte is a Grand Cru Classe estate, ranked within the 1959 Classification of Graves.

A Sauvignon Blanc dominant blend (90%) with Sauvignon Gris and Sémillon; barrel fermented and matured on its lees for 12 months in approximately 50% French new oak.

Harveys 'Very Old' Oloroso Blend Medium 30 Year Old Sherry 50cl

Oloroso Sherry aged for an average of 30 years from the renowned Harveys.

Oloroso Sherries are naturally dry, though the relatively high strength and full body of an Oloroso will give it an impression of roundness and even sweetness. Once opened it will begin to slowly lose some of its aroma and flavour but can be kept, corked and refrigerated, for up to two months after opening. The older the Oloroso, the longer it will stay perfect for consumption, as much as 12 months.

All Sherry is made from three traditional white wine grapes only. The Palomino grape is the most commonly used along with Moscatel and Pedro Ximenez.

Château De La Gardine 1968 Chateauneuf-Du-Pape

Chateauneuf-Du-Pape is one of France's iconic appellations.  Located in the Southern Rhône Valley, the appellation is most commonly known for its Grenache-dominant red wines with Syrah and Mourvèdre lead the cast of supporting grapes. White wines are also produced in exceedingly smaller volumes.

Château De La Gardine's vines have an average age of 40-60 years. They age their Chateauneuf-Du-Pape for 9-14 months, 60% in vats and 40% in 1 to 6 year-old 225 litres oak barrels.

Our monthly auctions end from 7:00 PM (UK local time) on the closing date. If a bid is placed after 7:00 PM on any lot, the entire auction will be extended by an additional two minutes. 

The auction will end once all bidding has ceased for two minutes. Based on previous auction activity, the auction will continue for several hours and is most likely to finish between 9pm - 11pm (UK local time).
