Hawkes 'PYR' Pyramid Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 Alexander Valley 300cl

100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the single vineyard of Pyramid within the Alexander Valley AVA of Sonoma County, California.

The Hawkes family have been growing grapes in the Alexander Valley for over fifty years. The near 120 acre Pyramid Vineyard was planted entirely to Cabernet Sauvignon in 1996 and is named due to the sharp, often terraced hills on which it grows.

This is a 3 litre double magnum bottle. Large-format bottles are great for extended ageing periods due to the wine's slower rate of maturation.

Shiraz from the renowned Barossa Valley in South Australia made using the Appassimento style: matured for approximately 24 months in French oak. 

Appassimento wines are produced through a process of partially rack-drying grapes to increase concentration of both natural grape flavours and sugars.  The result is a wine of atypical power, concentration and alcohol content with an ability to benefit from long periods of maturation.

Nyetimber Classic Cuvee Brut NV English Sparkling 2x75cl

Of all non-Champagne sparkling wines, many of those produced in the south of England come closest in terms of style and quality.  With similarities in soils and climates, grape varieties (Chardonnay and Pinot Noir) which grow well, and method of production, it is natural that flavour will follow also.

From Nyetimber in the English county of West Sussex, this \"Classic Cuvee\" is a multi-vintage sparkling wine and the flagship of the house.

Niepoort 1992 Vintage Port

1992 vintage port from the renowned Niepoort Port House. Bottled 1994.

Vintage Port is a specific style of Ruby Port which is made only in exceptional years and from the ripest grapes.  The fermented wine is fortified before being aged for 2 years in massive oak vats which preserve the ripe fruit character.  Upon bottling, the wines continue to age and can reward patient maturation for many decades.
