Avignonesi & Capannelle 50&50 2017 Tuscany 27 Litre (Goliath/ Primat)

50&50 is a wine sprung from the friendship which binds the owners of Avignonesi in Montepulciano and Capannelle in Chianti Classico. The first vintage was 1988 and it was born as an experiment, almost by chance: during a dinner the former owners of the two wineries started to compare, mix and match their wines, and came up with the even blend of 50% Sangiovese and 50% Merlot. This wine has been matured in French Oak barriques for 24 months.

This is a 27 litre bottle also know as a Primat or Goliath bottle. It weighs 143 pounds and holds 27 litres, the equivalent of 36 bottles of wine!

Large-format bottles are great for extended ageing periods due to the wine's slower rate of maturation.

Please note that due to the additional weight, there shall be a shipping charge equivalent to 36 bottles applied to this lot.

Niepoort 1931 Garrafeira Port

From the 1931 vintage, this Port was rested in large oak vats for approximately 7 years before transfer into 11 litre glass demijohns in 1938, with subsequent decanting into bottle in 1979.
