Domaine Des Baumard 1972 Savennières

Dry, full-bodied Chenin Blanc from the distinct Loire Valley appellation of Savennières, France. 

Though sweeter styles are permitted, Savennières typically produces dry whites wines with the Chenin Blanc grape from vineyards situated on the north bank of the river Loire.

Pinot Noir from the renowned Martinborough region in the south of New Zealand's North Island.

Ata Rangi was founded in 1980 and is a small family-owned organic winery located in Martinborough.

The Alfred Gratien Champagne House was founded in Epernay in 1864 and is still a family run house to this day.

Château Haut-Bages Averous, later renamed Echo de Lynch-Bages as of the 2008 vintage, is the second wine from the classified 5th-Growth (5eme-Cru) Pauillac estate, Chateau Lynch-Bages.

Assorted Monbazillac x2

This lot contains the following;

• Chateau Theulet 1995 Monbazillac 75cl - 14%
• Chateau Les Sablines 2006 Monbazillac 50cl - 12.5%

As with the famous wines of Sauternes, the sweet white wines of Monbazillac are affected by the noble fungus, Botrytis Cinerea, which dehydrates the grapes to raisins, leaving only the sweet sugary pulp for pressing.  Where the two appellations differ is the grapes which make up the blends: Sauternes is mostly Semillon with some Sauvignon Blanc; Monbazillac is mostly Muscadelle, with some Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc - generally creating a slightly more delicate style.

Domaine Daniel-Etienne Defaix 'Vieilles Vignes' 2000 Chablis 2x75cl

Old vine Chardonnay from the Burgundian appellation of Chablis.

The Defaix domaine is one of the oldest in Chablis dating back to the 13th century. Defaix is a traditional producer, with 28 hectares of vineyards, including vines in three Premier Cru sites (Les Lys, Vaillon and Côte de Lechet). Known today as Domaine Daniel-Etienne Defaix, who is the 14th generation at the helm of the estate.

Chablis is one of the most well-known wine regions in France producing famous Chardonnay, which unlike other Chardonnay wines, rarely uses oak-ageing.

Old vine Pinot Noir made from a blend of grapes from several Premier Cru vineyards within Beaune located in the Côte-d'Or of Burgundy. 

Founded in 1731, Bouchard Père & Fils is one of Burgundy’s oldest and most renowned wine-merchant houses also known as negociants. Bouchard Pere & Fils has been producing the Beaune du Chateau Cuvee since 1907.

Antonin Rodet 'Clos Rousseau' 2002 Santenay 1er-Cru

Pinot Noir from the Premier Cru vineyard of Clos Rousseau in the Burgundian appellation of Santenay.

Assorted Rioja Reserva 2x75cl

Tempranillo dominant blend from the Rioja region in northern Spain.

This lot contains the following;

• Siglo 1993 Rioja Gran Reserve - 12.5%
• Bodegas Lagunilla 'Vina Herminia' 1975 Rioja Reserva

Rioja is arguably Spain's top wine region and is one of only two regions classified under the Denominación de Origen Calificada (DOCa) system. Other than Tempranillo and Garnacha, Graciano and Mazuelo (Carignan) are also used in the red wines of Rioja. 

Domaine Martin Faudot 2001 Arbois 150cl

Likely a blend of Chardonnay and Savagnin, from the appellation of Arbois in the Jura region of eastern France.

This is a 1.5 litre magnum bottle. Large-format bottles are great for extended ageing periods due to the wine's slower rate of maturation.

Dr. Loosen 'Graacher Himmelreich' Riesling Kabinett 2015 Mosel

Semi-sweet Riesling from the single vineyard, Himmelreich by the village of Graach on the steep eastern bank of the famous Mosel river, just north of the town of Bernkastel-Kues.

Kabinett is the lightest style of German wine. It is made from grapes which were picked at full ripeness (but not late-harvested) and the style typically ranges from dry to off-dry with well balanced residual sweetness and acidity.
