Château Climens was ranked as a First Growth Premier Cru (1er-Cru) in Bordeaux' famed 1855 Classification of the Medoc.
The Château Climens Barsac-Sauternes is made from 100% Sémillon which is aged in 30-40% new small French oak barrels for 20-22 months.
Their vineyard has been biodynamic since 2010 (Biodyvin certification since 2014).
Château Climens is situated in Barsac, an important sweet white wine appellation in Bordeaux on the left bank of the River Garonne in France. Château Climens has a long and well-documented history stretching back to 1547, although viticulture didn’t begin here until the 17th century.
Sémillon is a white wine grape variety that is widely grown in the Bordeaux region of France and other wine-producing regions such as Australia and California.
