Founded in the 18th Century, Chateau Angélus, known as Château L'Angélus until 1990, is a highly respected estate within the right-bank Bordeaux appellation of Saint-Émilion- promoted to Premier Grand Cru Classé A status in the 2012 reclassification. In 2022 Château Angélus withdrew it's application from the official Saint-Émilion classification system.

The wine is typically an even blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc; matured in new oak barrels for 18-22 months.

Château La Mission Haut-Brion from the Pessac-Léognan appellation (originally Graves before 1987), is widely regarded as being on par with the five prestigious 1st-Growth estates as ranked in the famed 1855 Classification of the Medoc; itself ranked within the Classification of Graves 1959. 

The Pessac-Léognan wine region was carved out of the Graves sub-region in 1987. Many estates in what is now Pessac-Léognan were labelled under Graves prior to 1987, such as Château La Mission Haut-Brion.

Typically a Merlot dominant blend closely followed by Cabernet Sauvignon and with a small proportion of Cabernet Franc; aged in oak barriques (70-85% new) for 18- 20 months.

This is a 1.5 litre magnum bottle. Large-format bottles are great for extended ageing periods due to the wine's slower rate of maturation.

1983 vintage Port from the house of Dow's. Bottled in 1985.

Vintage Port is produced only in the most exceptional deemed years from a single harvest. The fermented wine is fortified before being aged for 2-3 years in massive oak vats which preserve the ripe fruit character. Upon bottling, the wines continue to age and can reward patient maturation for many decades. The decision to declare a vintage is made by the individual Port house. 

One of the great houses of Port- the name Dow has been associated with quality Port wine from the vineyards of the Upper Douro Valley for over two centuries.

From the Bordeaux left-bank appellation of Saint-Julien, Château Gruaud-Larose is a 2nd Growth (2eme Cru) estate in the 1855 Classification of the Médoc.

The wine is a classic Cabernet Sauvignon dominant, left-bank Bordeaux-blend; matured for 16-18 months in oak barrels. New oak use has increased from around 30% in the 1990s to around 90% in the 2000s.

Located in the appellation of Margaux, Château Palmer was ranked as a 3rd-Growth (3ème-Cru) Grand Cru estate in the famed 1855 Classification of the Medoc.

The estate can trace it's history back to the 17th century, though modern history and the Palmer name took form when Englishman Charles Palmer purchased the property in the early 19th century. The estate produces two wines- Château Palmer grand vin and a second label named Alter Ego, earlier known as La Réserve du Géneral.

Beychevelle means “lower sails\" and was named in honour of Jean-Louis Nogaret de la Valette (Duke of Eperon) - the first owner of Beychevelle, who was also a Navy Admiral of France. Today the Chateau is owned by Grands Millésimes de France (Castel and Suntory Group).

Placing a Maximum Bid
Use the "Set your bid limit" button on the left side of the bidding panel to enter the highest amount you're willing to bid on a lot. Our system will then automatically raise your bid in set increments if you’re outbid, up to your maximum. If someone bids above your set limit, we’ll notify you by email so you can choose whether to increase your bid.

Placing a Single Bid
Alternatively, place a single bid by selecting the button on the right side of the bidding panel. The button displays the amount needed for the next increment. For example, if the current highest bid is £50.00, the button will show "+ £55.00" (reflecting a £5.00 increment).

Our monthly auctions end from 7:00 PM (UK local time) on the closing date. If a bid is placed after 7:00 PM on any lot, the entire auction will be extended by an additional two minutes. 

The auction will end once all bidding has ceased for two minutes. Based on previous auction activity, the auction will continue for several hours and is most likely to finish between 9pm - 11pm (UK local time).
