Henschke 'Hill Of Grace' 1995 Eden Valley

Iconic single-vineyard, seriously old-vine (100+ years) Shiraz from Australia's Eden Valley, located just north of Adelaide.

The first Hill of Grace Shiraz was created in 1958 from the pre-phylloxera vines at the Hill of Grace vineyard which was planted around 1860. The wine is typically matured for 18-21 months in new French and American hogsheads. 

1868 marked the first recorded sale of Henschke wine. The historic estate has been family-owned for over 156 years with the sixth generation currently at the helm.

This 2016 vintage is made from a blend of 94% Tinto Fino and 6% Merlot and bottled in May 2019.

Vega Sicilia 'Valbuena 5°' 2014 Ribera Del Duero

Valbuena is made from Tinto Fino (aka Tempranillo) from the northwestern Spanish DO of Ribera Del Duero.

This 2014 vintage is made from a blend of 95% Tinto Fino and 5% Merlot from 35 year old vines.

H. Weinz Armsheim 'Armsheimer Adelberg' Trockenbeerenauslese 1976 Rheinhessen

Very sweet white wine likely made from a Silvaner domiannt blend from Germany's Rheinhessen wine-region, located south of Frankfurt.

Trockenbeerenauslese, or TBA for short, translates to \"dry berry selection\". These rare wines are made from hand-picked individually selected fully ripe or overripe grapes, which the best are infested by noble rot. It is the absolute sweetest style of German wine and an utterly rare delight.

Vietti Castiglione 'Brunate' 2012 Barolo

Barolo, often referred to as the “king of wines”,  must always be made from 100% Nebbiolo grapes-, and matured for a minimum period of 38 months, 18 of which must be in oak barrels - (traditionally in large Slavonian oak casks).

Barolo wine comes from a traditional village of the same name located in the northern region of Piemonte. It is so revered that it was one of just three wines awarded DOCG status on the same day that the classification was introduced in July 1980. The region encompasses 11 villages in the heart of Piemonte, Most of the estates are small and family-owned, therefore production of wines from the Barolo DOCG is low.

This wine from the renowned Vietti estate is 100% Nebbiolo from vineyards within selected crus surrounding the village of Castiglione Falletto.

Pinot Noir from a single block at Hyde Vineyards within the (Los) Carneros AVA located within California's renowned Napa Valley.

Valdicava 1996 Brunello di Montalcino

100% Sangiovese from the Tuscan town of Montalcino.

Brunello di Montalcino is one of the great under-appreciated wines of Italy. The wine must be made from 100% Sangiovese which undergoes an extended period of pre-fermentation maceration to extract maximum colour, flavour and tannins which affords the wine its ability to mature for long periods.  Brunello di Montalcino must be aged in oak - commonly Slavonian oak - for a minimum of 2 years, though traditionally winemakers would age their Brunellos in oak for at least 3 years before release.

Valfieri 1987 Barbaresco 3x75cl

Nebbiolo from the renowned Piedmont region of Italy.

DOC Barbaresco is one of the great - yet largely unsung - wines of Italy.  Similar to it's more famous neighbour, Barolo; Barbaresco is made from Nebbiolo grapes and must be aged for a minimum of 26 months (at least 9 months in wooden barrels) prior to release.

Verget 'Valmur' 1995 Chablis Grand-Cru

Chardonnay from the Grand Cru vineyard of Valmur in the iconic Burgundian appellation of Chablis.

Chablis is located in northern Burgundy and is one of the most well-known wine regions in France producing world renowned cool-climate Chardonnay. Compared to other Burgundian Chardonnays, Chablis wines typically have little or no oak influence- though many of the Grand Cru and Premier Cru wines receive some maturation in oak barrels.

Hamilton Russell Vineyards Chardonnay 20106Hemel-En-Aarde

Chardonnay from South Africa's coastal wine-region of Hemel-En-Aarde, in the Walker Bay district in the Western Cape of South Africa; 100% barrel fermented (30% new oak) with 9 months in barrel.

Hamilton Russell Vineyards is one of South Africa’s iconic wine estates making only Pinot noir and Chardonnay. The wines produced from the estate are known to bear a remarkable similarity to the top Burgundies.

Virginie de Valandraud 2015 Saint-Émilion

Virginie de Valandraud is the second wine of Château Valandraud. A classic Merlot dominant, right-bank Bordeaux-blend from the appellation of Saint-Émilion: aged for 20 months in new oak barrels. 

Saint-Émilion is located in the Libournais district of Bordeaux's Right Bank. Merlot is the primary grape variety used in the wines blended with Cabernet Franc and/or Cabernet Sauvignon. Carmenere, Petit Verdot and Malbec are also permitted but rarely used.

There is a fairly complicated classification system for the appellation which includes; Premier Grand Cru Classé A, Premier Grand Cru Classé B and Grand Cru Classé. Saint-Émilion Grand Cru may also be noted on labels but without the word \"Classé\", this means the wine is not part of this classification system. In recent years some top producers in the area have voluntarily withdrawn for the classification system.

Pinot Noir from the Burgundian appellation of Nuits-Saint-Georges, within the subregion of the Côte-de-Nuits.

Val Di Suga 2003 Brunello di Montalcino 2x75cl

Hooper's 1985 Vintage Port

Vintage Port is produced only in the most exceptional deemed years from a single harvest. The fermented wine is fortified before being aged for 2-3 years in massive oak vats which preserve the ripe fruit character. Upon bottling, the wines continue to age and can reward patient maturation for many decades. The decision to declare a vintage is made by the individual Port house.

Xavier Monnot 'Clos de la Fussière' Monopole 2019 Maranges 1er-Cru

Pinot Noir from Xavier Monnot's Monopole Premier Cru vineyard of La Fussière, located in the Burgundian appellation of Maranges.

The Maranges appellation is the youngest in the Côte de Beaune, created in May 1989. Until this time, the Maranges villages produced wines under the Côte de Beaune-Villages appelation.

Hilltop Neszmely '5 Puttonyos' 2001 Tokaji 2x50cl / Marks and Spencer

The wines of the famed Tokaji wine region of northeastern Hungary are predominantly produced from the white wine grapes Furmint, which are left on the vines until affected by the noble fungus, Botrytis Cinerea, which dehydrates the grapes to raisins, leaving only the sweet sugary pulp.

Tokaji wines are classified by sweetness, from 1 Puttonyos (dry) to 7 Puttonyos (absolute sweetness) and can be produced from the following grapes; Furmint, Hárslevelű, Yellow Muscat, Zéta (aka Oremus), Kövérszőlő and Kabar.

Hofgut Falkenstein 'Niedermenniger Herrenberg' Riesling Kabinett Feinherb 2022 Mosel

Off-dry Riesling from the single vineyard of  Niedermenniger Herrenberg within Germany's famous Mosel wine region, which also includes the Saar and Ruwer tributaries.

Kabinett is the lightest style of German wine. It is made from grapes which were picked at full ripeness (but not late-harvested) and the style typically ranges from dry to off-dry with well balanced residual sweetness and acidity.

A mature red wine made from a Cardinal dominant blend with Shiraz from the Phan Rang region of Vietnam. 

Hermits Hill Botrytis Semillon 2004 Australia 37.5cl / Marks and Spencer

A sweet white wine made in the same style as Sauternes wine- from botrytis effected Sémillon grapes from Australia. 

As with the famous wines of Sauternes, this white wine is made from grapes affected by the noble fungus, Botrytis Cinerea, which dehydrates the grapes to raisins, leaving only the sweet sugary pulp for pressing.
